Romantic Jewel Coloured Country Wedding
Lazy Acres, Rockhampton, Queensland

Wow! 2022 has been a whirlwind of a year and we are only in… March.

Yikes!

The world is a bit messy and when things get this way, I like to focus on my favourite thing… LOVE.

So let’s do it.

Let’s deep dive… into… LOVE.

And there is no better way to celebrate the launch of my 2022 blogging season than throwing it back to Cody and Dani’s Rockhampton wedding in November 2021.

Lazy Acres was the perfect venue for this easy-going, country loving couple. The quaint and quiet setting quickly turned into a buzzing of excitement as people from all walks of life gathered for the occasion.

I could feel the nerves in the air as I met Cody upon greeting his guests. Not at all acquainted with being the centre of attention, this larrikin was certainly feeling the pressure.

Everyone took their seats… guests chattered… heads turned… just waiting for a glimpse… that magical vision of white.

Dani took a deep breath and stepped down onto the manicured lawn that would be her aisle, the Gladstone Bridal Boutique gown swept along the green with every delicate step. At the sight of the Bride, guests rose from their seats and hands reached for tissues. It was like a scene out of a movie… everything was perfect!

Their ceremony was officiated by Rockhampton Marriage Celebrant, Tegan from “You Had Me At I Do” and what a ceremony it was! True to Cody and Dani’s style the relaxed and light-hearted ceremony contained no sappy love poems, no tears from our Bride and Groom just lots of laughs and quite the story. And… when it was all said and done, the new Mr and Mrs were met with hugs and strong handshakes of well wishes as it rained confetti and the cold beers cracked open relieving the heat of the perfect November day.

In true wedding day fashion, I did what I do best. I chased the light with the bridal party of ten in tow. We battled mosquitos and called for esky reinforcements and insect repellant… but we created magic and we had a hell of a good time doing it. And… for a Groom who did not to be in front of my lens… I think he did alright!

The celebration continued well into the night and the speeches rolled on as unrelenting laughter filled the reception area. Rockhampton DJ, DJ Vee rocked the house with tunes both old and new. Gone were the shoes and bare feet shuffled across the red timber dance floor well into the night.

What an epic day this was!
