It had been nearly 10 years since I had visited Hervey Bay on the Fraser Coast of Queensland. My memories of this beautiful, sleepy little town are very much reminiscent of my own wedding day. My husband and I had planned on returning to our own special little place in October. The month that marks our promises.
But the universe had other plans…
My beautiful Kara, former neighbour and precious friend was to make her own promises to her love in this beachside town that I hold sacred in my heart. The excitement of being asked to be their Wedding Photographer was unexplainable! Of course I had to do it! So… we packed up and car and the kids and brought our little visit forward to the date of 13th August 2022… and what a glorious visit it was!
Let me tell you about Kurt and Kara…
Kurt, the avid punter, the sportsman and quiet romantic… met his match in Kara that night on the dance floor of the Snake Pit Nightclub. A night that would turn his world upside down and inside out! Kara has a larger than life personality, the most ridiculous hiccups you’ve ever heard and could give Nick Cummins, The Honey Badger, a run for his money when it comes to busting out some Aussie slang.
But…
They are the perfect balance… the perfect yin and yang.
This was the day that marked both the end of a chapter and the beginning. It was a day full of emotion, beautiful family, perfectly written vows and dreams of a future now starting to take shape.
Kurt and Kara were married in the soft rain at Purnella Park by Brisbane Marriage Celebrant Melissa Price.
Kurt and Kara… I am so incredibly happy for you both! This day was pure magic! It was an absolute honour to document your wedding day and your loved ones.
All my love to you… Mr & Mrs Eckert!
